Sphenopalatine Artery Pseudoaneurysm Formation Following Facial Trauma: A case Report and Literature Review

چکیده

Facial fractures, specifically orbitozygomatic and zygomaticomaxillary complex are well-documented common injuries. Pseudoaneurysm formation following cerebrovascular blunt trauma is a rarely experienced complication with an incidence rate of less than 1% only few cases reported in the literature. Traumatic pseudoaneurysm sphenopalatine artery (SPA), deepest branch maxillary artery, extremely rare due to deep location SPA its protection from bony landmarks. In craniofacial trauma, not apparent on physical examination usually presents as persistent nasal bleeding. pseudoaneurysms can present complications surgical osteotomies, endoscopic sinus surgeries, facial or even progression nasopharyngeal cancer. Endovascular embolization provides, safe, quick, effective treatment while minimizing morbidity extensive exposure. this case report we describe post provide insight these entities highlight importance early detection treatment.
